You bring the dream and we will bring the strategies, systems and support.

Hey there, fellow dreamers and doers,

I want you to take a moment, close your eyes, and imagine what your life would look like if you were making a greater impact if you had found a way to increase your income, and if you were floating in a cloud of abundance, freedom, and joy. Pretty wonderful, right? That's the life you deserve; it doesn't have to be a daydream. The purpose of this blog post is to guide you on an incredible journey to redefine 'success' on your own terms. Let's create our unique success stories together.

I want to start with a quote that has always inspired me: "Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking." - Steve Jobs. It's a powerful reminder that we don't have to limit ourselves based on what society often nudges us to believe is the 'right' or 'traditional' choice.

Understanding the Challenges

Often, societal norms and expectations can box our definition of success into a rigid framework. We're told to follow a scripted path—obtain a degree, secure a high-paying job, climb the corporate ladder, get married, have children, etc. The constant pressure to conform to these metrics can be draining, not to mention how highly stressful it can be to live up to this picture of success that doesn't necessarily align with our desires and passions.

Have you ever felt the weight of "I'm not good enough" or "I will never be successful"? Or felt the pressure to mold yourself into society's cookie-cutter version of success? It’s time to acknowledge that those feelings come from conditioned thinking and the external expectations of others. Realize that you don't have to subscribe to those limiting beliefs. You can choose to break free.

Redefining Success

What if I told you that success could mean something entirely different—something that aligns with your values, your passions, and your unique goals? Picture success that smells like fulfillment and deep-seated happiness, success that resonates with personal growth and accomplishment of goals that truly matter to YOU.

Think of the people you admire for their unique career paths, their commitment to their passions, or the legacy they're leaving behind. Whether it's a groundbreaking artist, a relentless entrepreneur, or a trailblazing activist, the common denominator is that they've defined success in their own way, on their terms.

Don't be afraid to step outside that limiting box of societal expectations. It's time you created your version of success, a version that fills you with passion, purpose, and joy.

Embracing Uniqueness

As outlier women (someone who defies societal expectations), embracing our authenticity, quirks, and unconventional desires is the secret sauce. Buck the trends, flout the norms, and dance to your rhythm. Believe me, it’s liberating. The incredible sense of freedom when you let go of societal expectations and march to your beat, is truly empowering.

I'll share a personal example with you—an anecdote that perfectly captures my own liberation. For years, I've held a demanding corporate job, juggling the responsibilities of my role while attempting to maintain a healthy work-life balance. But my true passion was always rooted in coaching and helping others. While it was daunting, I took the leap of faith, started my coaching business, and pursued my dream of helping women define their personal version of success.

I am so much more than my conventional job role. I am a proud executive, but I'm also a loving mom, a caring daughter, and a devoted wife. Besides, I took on leadership roles within my company's women's resource group and joined a non-profit organization as a board member, mentoring our future generations in entrepreneurship, all the while running my coaching business.

Life is a beautiful, multifaceted journey, and like a brilliant diamond, we can dazzle from every angle. You don't need anyone's validation or permission to live the life you were meant to live. Because when you listen to your heart and chase your dreams, magic happens.

Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

I've been there, swallowed by limiting beliefs. "It's too late to start pursuing my passions," "I'm not good enough to make a significant impact," "I could never make a comfortable living doing. what I love," and countless other doubts that have held me back from reaching for the stars.

If you're reading this and feeling like your dreams are unattainable, I assure you that your limiting beliefs are not irrefutable truths. These negative thoughts are just mind monsters, making you feel smaller, weaker, and less capable than you actually are. But guess what? They don't define you. You can choose to break free from these shackles and create a life you're proud of.

One way to push back against those limiting beliefs is to surround yourself with inspiring people who have overcome similar barriers. Read about their stories, listen to their podcasts, and converse with them. You'll find that these inspirations faced their own demons, conquered them, and emerged stronger from the experience.

Creating a Vision of Success

The journey to defining your success looks blurry without a clear vision of what 'success' means for you. It's about identifying your values, unearthing your passions, and your desired outcomes. What does a fulfilling life look like to you? If you don't know the answer yet, that's okay. Try this exercise—grab a pen and paper or open a blank document, and write down everything and anything that sparks joy or excites you. Look for patterns and common themes. This exercise can help you hone in on the core values and passions that drive you.

It's also essential to recognize that your vision may evolve as you grow and change. Be open to adaptation, and don't be afraid to reevaluate and refine your vision as you progress. There's room to pivot and adapt along the way.

Setting Goals and Taking Action

Alright, you've got a vision. Now what?

Goals are like stepping stones towards your envisioned success, and taking consistent action towards these goals is like a relentless pursuit of your dreams. It's essential to break down your vision into smaller, more manageable goals, serving as a roadmap to turn your dreams into reality.

Start by identifying short-term, intermediate, and long-term goals. From there, break each goal into smaller tasks or milestones, working backward from the desired outcome. Creating a detailed roadmap allows you to visualize your progress and take actionable steps to achieve your vision.

Here are a few practical tips to make this chase effective:

  1. Write down your goals: Writing down your goals creates a sense of commitment and accountability. Place them somewhere visible, like on a bulletin board or as a screensaver, serving as a daily reminder of what you're working towards.
  2. Establish specific, measurable outcomes: Vague goals can lead to confusion and frustration. Be specific and define what success looks like in tangible terms. For example, instead of "getting healthier," set a goal like "exercise four times a week" or "lose 10 pounds in the next two months."
  3. Prioritize your goals: Not all goals carry equal weight. Some may have a more significant impact on your vision of success. Prioritize your goals based on their importance and relevance to your overall vision.
  4. Set deadlines: Deadlines create a sense of urgency, helping to keep you focused and motivated. Be realistic when setting deadlines; remember that you can always adjust them as necessary.
  5. Monitor progress: Set aside time each week (or even daily) to assess your progress, celebrate your small wins, and adjust as needed. Reflecting on your progress allows you to course-correct if needed and stay focused on your goals.

Navigating Challenges and Overcoming Obstacles

Plot twist! This journey isn't always smooth sailing. We'll encounter challenges, feel the heat of stress, and sometimes doubt our dreams. But remember, we're in this together. Let's arm ourselves with strategies to overcome these hurdles, manage stress, and stay motivated.

  1. Cultivate resilience: Accept that adversity is part of the journey. So, when it comes, embrace it, learn from it, and adapt. Cultivating a growth mindset can help you become more resilient in facing challenges.
  2. Build a support system: Surround yourself with people who believe in you, support your dreams, and celebrate your successes. This can include friends, family, mentors, or even online communities of like-minded individuals.
  3. Focus on what you can control: It's easy to become frustrated by events outside of your control. Instead, focus your energy on areas where you have agency and adjust as needed.
  4. ** Practice self-compassion**: Be kind to yourself when you fall short or face setbacks. Remember, pursuing your dreams is a journey, not a sprint.
  5. Seek help when needed: Don't hesitate to ask for help or advice on overcoming obstacles. Whether it's a mentor, coach, or therapist, discussing your difficulties can help you develop new perspectives and find solutions.

Celebrating Progress and Embracing Joy

Big or small, every win deserves a celebration, and every step forward, no matter how tiny, is progress. It's important to reward yourself for your accomplishments and take the time to acknowledge your hard work. Set mile markers to celebrate your progress, whether it's treating yourself to a special indulgence, taking a moment to reflect and express gratitude, or sharing your achievement with friends and family.

Let's remember to prioritize self-care and embrace joy and well-being as we take this journey. Our success doesn't have to come at the expense of our happiness. Work-Life Harmony is key, and creating space for self-care activities that nurture your mind, body, and soul is vital.

A few ideas to kickstart your self-care routine:

  1. Schedule regular "me time" to engage in activities you enjoy.
  2. Develop a consistent sleep schedule to ensure you get ample rest every night.
  3. Take breaks during the day to recharge and refocus, whether it's a quick walk around the block, a 10-minute meditation, or stretching.
  4. Nourish your body with healthy food and prioritize physical exercise.
  5. Stay connected with your support network and engage in social activities that uplift and inspire you.

Conclusion

So, are you ready, my outlier sisters? Embrace the journey to redefine success on your terms to create your unique story of triumph. Remember, "Your time is limited. Don't waste it living someone else's life." Your dreams await, and you have what it takes to make them come true.

Remember, success is not one-size-fits-all, so let's redefine what it means to us - let's rise and embrace the beautiful, fulfilling lives we deserve! It's time to make our mark on the world and live the extraordinary lives we've always imagined!
